Finally!

12 10 2007

My work experience placement with BBC Radio Lincolnshire looks like it’s finally going to start after months of confusion. Adam the engineer guy has cobbled together a phone handset with a loop system that plugs into the switchboard.

I went up to the BBC this morning at 6.45 (having worked at Tesco until midnight!) and tested out my new bit of kit to see if everything was running smoothly. After a couple of quick chats to a depressed grandfather and an angry farmer, it was clear that it did the job. I can now do my first proper shift next Thursday, having signed my contract way back in May.

So if you happen to be listening to the fantastic Rod Whiting Breakfast Show on that particular day, drop us a line!

[...] Stuart Robinson: Finally! Stuart, a coursemate at Lincoln, has been waiting to do some shifts at BBC Radio Lincolnshire for months now but couldn’t — he uses a hearing aid and couldn’t hear people on the phone. ‘Adam’ at the Beeb has sorted out the problem.
